ROLLS ROYCEAt the other end of the list, the number of supercars and hypercars that cost more than a million dollars - or even several million - continues to grow. Some come from well-known car manufacturers, while others come from new brands you may not have even heard of.
Incredible but true! There are more cars priced at over $1 million on the US market than there are under $20,000 for a new US used car. To find out just how noticeable these trends are on both sides of the market, our American colleagues at CarBuzz have compiled a list of new cars for sale in the US and divided it into two. On one side are vehicles priced at less than $20,000, on the other are those priced at more than $1 million. Although this is not an exhaustive list, they found about 18 vehicles available for less than $20,000 and at least 32 for more than $1 million.

he average price has thus surged twice as much as inflation, as U.S. consumer prices climbed 7 % in 2021, the largest increase since 1982, according to the Consumer Price Index (CPI) released today by the Labor Department.
Note that the US car market has grown by 2.5 % in 2021 to under 15 million units, still well below the 17 million registrations recorded in 2019 for new and used cars in the US.
