STK 3453 1957 Ford Thunderbird The Thunderbird was introduced in 1955 as a sporty competitor to the Corvette. The 1957 Thunderbird, third model year, presented a new front fascia, new rear taillight/fin design and carried over features from the previous model year including a 12-volt electrical system, deep-dish safety steering wheel and removable hardtop. This particular 1957 Thunderbird is a rare E code (2×4 intake) example of the iconic Gen1 roadster. Horsepower is provided by a rebuilt Thunderbird 312ci engine fitted with dual Holley 4000 T-pot 4-barrel carburetors, each said to flow 330cfm for a total of 660cfm. This engine features an Engine Dress-up Kit with chrome/alloy accents and was factory rated at 270hp. This E-code is backed by Fords time-honored 2-speed Ford-O-Matic transmission.
